HUMANTAY LAGOON FULL DAY

After we pick you up at your hotel at 4 a.m., we will begin our adventure to Humantay Lake with a 3-hour private trip by private transport to Mollepata Village (3850 masl). Our breakfast will be served and energy levels will be high, ready to start our day long before we begin our trek. With one more exciting hour ahead of us we arrive at the trailhead. As we disembark from the car, your lungs will expand with the sheer excitement of your surroundings. The landscapes of Soraypampa will hold you firmly in their grip oozing safety and warmth with a journey of cultural aspects of this region.
The weather depends on the quality of the fantastic views of these two extraordinary mountains, Humantay (5,900 meters high / 19,356 feet) and Salkantay (6,215 meters high / 20,390 feet elevation). It is important to note that your guide will give you information about the daily schedule and introduce the name of your group and take the first official group photo.

It is a 1.5 to 2 hour hike to the lake with low to moderate difficulty and more than worth it when you see the magical alpine views along the Humantay Valley. It is also possible to rent a horse instead. Then, take those last few steps and reach the highest point: Humantay Lake (4300 meters is like stepping into a painting by Leonardo Davinci himself. Incomparable views of the lake with its turquoise blue waters and the impressive glacier are framed in front of your eyes. You will have plenty of time to look around, take pictures of the scenery and rest a bit. Your informative guide will share with you detailed information about this beautiful lake.

With your new photo album and personal souvenirs to take with you, we descend back to our driver to take us back safely to replace the energy used in the morning’s excitement, for a much needed lunch in Mollepata and return home to Cusco arriving around 6.30pm.
