Located in the Andean community of Chonta, Condor Canyon Cusco provides the opportunity to view the magnificent Andean Condor in flight. The largest flying bird in the world soars above the Condor Canyon Cusco skies and can fly as high as 8,000m. This is one of the natural miracles you won’t find anywhere else in the world. This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity, especially for the bird lovers. You to will feel the air they breathe as you hike through and see the magnificent views from the Condor Canyon Cusco encapsulating the endless mountains of the Andes, These mountains include the Humantay and Salkantay.

With an early morning transfer at 6:00 a.m. m., We will board the bus for our five hour trip in a northwesterly direction towards the Anta valley. On the way, our first stop is to visit the outstanding Inca sites of Killarumiyoc and Tarawasi (the temple of the Moon and the ritual place for offerings). Continuing towards the picturesque city of Limatambo. As the mountain ranges approach, the bus will continue on a dirt road into the highlands of the Puna with unlimited views of the picturesque mountain valley of Chonta (3,350 m / 10,900 ft) so close to the Apurimac Canyon.

Our arrival in Chonta will start walking on this great nature hike with breathtaking views. This is the time to take a deep breath while watching the condors in flight from the lookout. Embracing the natural inhabitants of Peru, the bird species, the flora and the fauna of this majestic landscape that the deep canyon offers.

As our 1-2 hour time takes over after many photos of the tall condors are taken, head up the hill from the lookout to share the chef’s delicious lunch.

After a day full of excitement, spending time with the angelic condors and carrying a belly full of a delicious lunch, we descend back to Chonta, where our driver will be waiting for us. The end of our day returns to Cusco around 8:00 p.m.
