UNVEILING ANDEAN BEAUTY – WAQRAPUKARA, RAINBOW MOUNTAIN & QUELCCAYA GLACIER EXPEDITION
DAY 1. CUSCO – WAQRAPUKARA – PITUMARCA
We leave Cusco at 4.00 am we will go by bus to the Qolqa town during 1hour and 45 minutes we will have breakfast at this town we will spend 30 minutes and after that we will continue by bus to the departure point located at 3770 m.a.s.l. reaching approximately at 7:30 am, this place is the point of departure of our hike, our professional guide will give you all the information you need to know before we begin hiking, we will be hiking for approximately 2 and half hour to get to Waqrapukara.
You’ll hike along a trail leading across the Apurimac canyon and see a range of extraordinary geological formations. During the excursion, you’ll be able to appreciate the diversity of Flora and fauna and take a break in the beautiful surroundings of APU RIMAC CANYON.
On our arrival at WAQRAPUKARA, we will take you to explore this wonderful Inca site with its marvelous views of Apurimac canyon.
Later, we will have lunch after that we will take a different trail to get out and meet our bus to take us to either to stay in a small town (Pitumarca) or spend the night in the tents.
DAY 2. PITUMARCA – RAINBOW MOUNTAIN
On this, the 2nd day of the journey, we will wake up and eat an early morning breakfast in order to continue the trip by bus to head trail, where will begin the trekking of a 2 hour to top of the rainbow mountain 5050msnm, here we will have imposing views of colors of mountains, snowcapped peak and the surroundings, we will have plenty of time to take pictures and enjoy the views.
Afterwards, we will hike back to the place where we will have lunch and after lunch we will drive to our campsite, the bus trip will take us through the mountains, and impressive landscapes, lakes and Andes. where will spend the night under millions of starts, this night will be very chilly because of altitude.
DAY 3: QUELCCAYA – CUSCO
we will wake up and have breakfast high in the mountains with surreal views, we then start hiking to Glacier of QUELCCAYA stretching from high in the mountains all the way to the lake, the largest tropical glacier in the world of Quelqaya. After exploring this amazing tropical glacier, we will drive back to Cusco around 6.30pm
