Leaving Cusco we reach the colorful town Pultumarca district, then we continue the trip through the Ausangate valley next to the river of the same name and near the mountain we pass through the community of Uchullucllu from here you can already see a cozy landscape of a stone forest, Red mountains, the snowy Ausangate, and mountains with terraces.

Finally we arrive at the point where the walk begins. On the way we appreciate the entire Vilcanota mountain range with its highest peak: the Ausangate. We walk in the cold puno accompanied by llamas and alpacas. After 2 and a half hours of walking we arrive at the magical place of red mountains.

Our adventure begins before dawn to pick you up from your hotel in Cusco around 3.30 a.m. Then, leaving the south to Cusco, following the mountain ranges for 2 hours, seeing colorful heritage villages, going down valleys, running rivers hitting the rocks and lakes that stretch for miles.

We will arrive at the town of Pitumarca to stretch our legs and rest, then drive for 1 more hour by car to the beginning of the trail. (Kallanka 4400 m – 14 435 ft) Mental preparation pushes us forward for 2 hours and the excitement of seeing this enchanted mountain garden awaits us. Before claiming our place from the point of view, we are pleased to welcome our day at the dawn of high mountains, embracing this magical moment of nature and sharing this day with the ancient and traditional local people. Llamas, alpacas, vicunas run free, indomitable condors and other highland birds float in the hot springs that look down as we reach this rare and isolated Mountain of Love (Montana de Amores) 4800m – 15748ft.

The Vilcanota mountain range is high and proud and the highest glacier in Cusco shows its pearl peak above all the rest Ausangate 6 375m 20,900ft. Here you will have plenty of time to connect with Pachamama, enjoy your snack, take pictures, relax and breathe the fresh air of the Andes.

Your expert guide will share with you a treasure of information and then we will descend for 1 hour and a half back to our bus for a delicious lunch. At this point, we offer an option to go to the hot springs until the end of a perfect day. Returning to Cusco and leaving around 6:30 PM in the Plaza Regocijo.
