CUSCO CITY HISTORICAL TOUR: EXPLORE THE HEART OF THE IMPERIAL EMPIRE

DAY 2. SACRED VALLEY PREMIUM AND AUTHENTIC TOUR

Our Sacred Valley Premium and Authentic Tour begins at 6:30 AM, when our friendly and knowledgeable guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco. We will embark on a scenic, one-hour bus rides through the breathtaking Andean landscape, as you prepare to explore the rich history and natural beauty of the Sacred Valley.

Pisac Archaeological Site

Our first destination is the Inca archaeological site of Pisac, where you will be introduced to the fascinating remnants of this ancient Incan settlement. At Pisac, you will have the opportunity to explore:

After a fascinating day exploring the Sacred Valley, we will take you to the Ollantaytambo train station in the afternoon for your journey to Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo.

Train Ride to Aguas Calientes

Scenic Journey: Board the train for a picturesque ride to Aguas Calientes. This scenic journey offers stunning views of the Sacred Valley’s dramatic landscapes, lush green mountains, and the meandering Urubamba River.

Train Experience: Enjoy the comfortable seating and panoramic windows as you relax and reflect on the day’s adventures. The train ride takes approximately one hour and forty-five minutes.

Arrival in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Town)
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, you will be greeted by the vibrant atmosphere of this charming town nestled in the lush cloud forest at the base of Machu Picchu.

Hotel Accommodation: Please note that overnight accommodation in Aguas Calientes is not included in your tour package. You are free to choose and book a hotel of your preference in Aguas Calientes. DAY 3: MACHU PICCHU BY TRAIN CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL TOUR

Your day begins with a delightful breakfast at your hotel in Aguas Calientes. Afterward, your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby at the scheduled time to kick off your exciting visit to the majestic Machu Picchu.

We do not include Lunch: Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant in Aguas Calientes. You will have a chance to savor Peruvian cuisine, with options ranging from traditional dishes like ceviche and lomo saltado to international favorites.

Afternoon Train Ride to Ollantaytambo
Following lunch, you will board the return train to Ollantaytambo.

Train Ride: The train journey back offers a chance to relax and reflect on your Machu Picchu adventure. The ride takes approximately one hour and forty-five minutes. Enjoy the scenic views and the comfort of the train as you travel through the beautiful Sacred Valley.

Transfer from Ollantaytambo to Cusco
Upon arriving at Ollantaytambo, our friendly representatives will be waiting to greet you.

Transfer to Cusco: We will transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco, arriving by evening.

DAY 4: PREMIUM RAINBOW MOUNTAIN EXPERIENCE

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at around 4:00 AM and embark on a scenic bus ride through the stunning South Valley. The drive will last approximately 3.5 hours, taking you through picturesque landscapes and charming Andean villages. Along the way, you will witness the beauty of the Peruvian highlands as we make our way to the trailhead.

Arrival at the Trailhead
Upon reaching the trailhead at an altitude of 4,650 meters (15,255 feet), we will prepare for our hike. The trek to Rainbow Mountain will take approximately 2 hours. As we ascend, you will be treated to spectacular views of the Andean landscapes, including vast valleys, lush plains, and distant snow-capped peaks.
Hiking to the Summit

Once we arrive at the summit of Rainbow Mountain, situated at 5,100 meters (16,730 feet), you will be rewarded with stunning panoramic views. Marvel at the vibrant, multicolored stripes of the mountain and take in the breathtaking vistas of the surrounding mountains and glaciers. You will have plenty of time to take photographs, soak in the views, and enjoy
the serene environment.

Our knowledgeable guide will provide you with detailed explanations about the geological formation of Rainbow Mountain and its cultural significance in Incan history.

Descent and Lunch
After exploring the summit, we will begin our descent, which takes about 1 hour back to the trailhead. Here, we will board our van and head to a local restaurant in the valley for a delicious lunch featuring traditional Peruvian cuisine. This is the perfect opportunity to relax, savor authentic dishes, and reflect on your adventure.

Return to Cusco
Following lunch, we will make our way back to Cusco, with an estimated arrival time of around 4:30 PM. We will drop you off at your hotel, where you can unwind and enjoy the rest of your evening after a day of exploration.

DAY 5: TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT AND FAREWELL

On the final day of your journey, we will make sure your departure from Cusco is as smooth and enjoyable as the rest of your experience.
In the morning, after you enjoy a hearty breakfast at your hotel, our friendly driver will pick you up from your accommodation at a time that suits your flight schedule. We will ensure that you are comfortably transported to Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport, providing you with a safe and timely transfer for your departure.

  • If you decide to cancel your tour less than 5 days before it begins, unfortunately, we won’t be able to offer any refunds.
  • If you cancel between 5 to 7 days before your tour starts, we’ll refund 50% of your payment.
  • Now, if you cancel more than 7 days in advance, we’re happy to refund 90%, but we do need to keep a 10% fee to cover some administrative costs.
  • Changing the date of your tour is possible, but it does come with a fee of $20 per traveler, and it’s subject to availability.
  • Now, when it comes to unforeseen circumstances like delayed flights, train schedule changes, bad weather, or sudden strikes that impact the tour, unfortunately, we can’t issue refunds in those cases. We’re really sorry for any inconvenience they may cause.
